The pomegranate is a medium sized red fruit with a hard leathery peel, enclosing many tiny bursts of red juice. It is termed a superfood due to its massive health benefits. These rubies are bursts of luscious juice and can be eaten as is, pressed into a juice and used in salads and desserts. Cut half an inch of the top of the fruit off, then make shallow vertical cuts with the knife. Then use your finger to pull out the edible fruit. Store the uncut fruit in a cool dry place.
